Bratsk State University has rich history, nice traditions, many years of experience in both educational and scholarly work and a lot of achievements. For more than a half of the century of its existing, the University deserved fine reputation and honorary title of the North Educational and Scientific Outpost in Irkutsk Oblast. We are trying to give our students versatile knowledge in demand and to prepare them to successful activity in new competitive conditions.

Multilevel educational system and a great number of educational programmes ensure a wide range of training specialists. Moreover, our University continues to maintain the high level of quality in education. It is indicated by the results of the Federal Internet-Examination, which confirm compliance of the content and quality of training specialists with the requirements of State Standard in Education.

BrSU has a lot of structural subdivisions such as Pulp and Paper College, Pedagogical College, Branch of BrSU in the town of Ust-Ilimsk and 8 representative offices in Irkutsk Oblast, the Buryat Republic and Krasnoyarsk Krai. More than 10000 students are educated at BrSU.

BrSU's activity was always innovative. The development of new technologies and materials were carried out here as well as tests of modern machinery, mechanisms and equipment. The recent ten years have been marked by more intensive scientific activity. A lot of attention is given to using the newest informational technologies in the education process. More than 100 laboratories and 3 laboratory modules provide the education process. More than 40 computer classes are joined with the local net and have an Internet access.

Bratsk State University has high intellectual potential. The effectiveness of our scientific research can be proved by awards received by our scientists at Russian and international exhibitions. Our students take an active part in many developments. The Rector of BrSU carries out effective work on consolidating the relationship between BrSU and foreign Schools of Higher Education and scientific organizations.

Material and technical basis of the University is constantly improved as well as laboratories and lecture rooms. For its achievements in social sphere BrSU thrice became a winner of the All-Russian Competition "Russian Organization of High Social Effectiveness".

BrSU meet all conditions not only for professional training but also for balanced personality development. Educational work with students is constantly improved. Our students have comfortable conditions of life and we ensure their security. Our students' life is full of bright events and creative work.

The stability of BrSU's development is formed with the competent policy of the University highest officials in social support of students and employees and ensures accessibility of education for most young people.
